as i was looking at this today, the traditional song “once i had a sweetheart and now i have none” popped into my head – who did i first hear it from? – carolyn hester? joan baez? fourth grade music class [in the mid-1950s in falls church, virginia- the music teacher’s name may come back to me at some point – she played an autoharp – we sang wonderful songs like “the ash grove”]?
